3D
AN INVENTION BY JUAN PALOMARES
3D painting, or analglyph painting, is a kind of painting consisting in the exact overlap of three images, or in this case paintings. One in the middle, two in the left and right in cyan and red.
The artist invented 3D painting in 2012, and according to the reviews and the exhibitions, it was a success. He then opened the door to other artists who were inspired by his paintings, and then they stared painting or copying masterpieces with his technique.
The Spanish newspaper El Mundo dedicated
an article to his discovery.

The anaglyphs are images of two dimensions capable to cause a three dimensional effect when they are seen with special lenses (different color lens for each eye). They are based on the phenomenon of synthesis of binocular vision and was patented by Louis Ducos du Hauron in 1891 with the name of this article. The anaglyphs are composed of two layers of color, superimposed but moved slightly regarding to each other to produce the effect of depth.
Indeed, this optical technique interested several artists in photography, cinematography, but also anyone wishing to create 3D images, or even the NASA to obtain orbital images of the Sun. But Juan Palomares was the first to create images in two dimensions capable of provoking an anaglyph effect using oil paint.
